Mount Sinai Professor and Chair of Emergency Medicine, Mount Sinai Health System

Brendan Carr is Mount Sinai Professor and chair of emergency medicine for the Mount Sinai Health System, where he is also a professor of population health science and policy. An emergency physician and health policy researcher, his work has focused on building regional emergency care systems and developing delivery systems that create more distributed and accessible acute care. From 2012 to 2020, Carr was director of the Emergency Care Coordination Center and a senior advisor within the US Department of Health and Human Services. He has also been a professor at and associate dean of Thomas Jefferson University and on the faculty of University of Pennsylvania.
