Andrew Witty is chancellor of the University of Nottingham. From 2008 to 2017, he was CEO of GlaxoSmithKline, which he joined in 1985. At Glaxo, he held a variety of sales and marketing roles and advised governments around the world. Witty’s most recent appointments include business ambassador for the UK government, China-Britain Business Council’s advisory council, Singapore Economic Development Board International Advisory Council, and UN High-Level Panel on Access to Medicines. He is a visiting professor at the Institute of Global Health Innovation at Imperial College, and his honors include Singapore’s Public Service Star and a knighthood for services to the UK economy and pharmaceutical industry.
