Candace Parker is a professional basketball player for the Los Angeles Sparks of the Women’s National Basketball Association. She was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2008 WNBA Draft, following a career at University of Tennessee where she led the Lady Vols to consecutive NCAA championships in 2007 and 2008. The first player to earn WNBA MVP and Rookie of the Year honors in the same season (2008), Parker was named Finals MVP after leading the Sparks to the 2016 WNBA title. Other honors include three WNBA All-Star nods, the 2013 WNBA All-Star Game MVP Award, seven All-WNBA selections, and leading Team USA to gold medals in the 2008 and 2012 Olympics.
