Deborah Rhodes

Professor of Medicine and Internist, Mayo Clinic; Member, Mayo Clinic Cancer Center

Deborah Rhodes is a professor of medicine and physician in the breast clinic at Mayo Clinic. There, she led the largest studies of a new breast-screening tool, molecular breast imaging, which demonstrated a three- to fourfold improvement in detection of cancers relative to mammography in women with dense breasts. Rhodes chairs the cancer practice convergence efforts at Mayo Clinic and in 2016 was appointed a Komen Scholar, an advisory group of breast cancer leaders that have made significant contributions to advancing the field. Her TED talk has nearly one million views, and she received the Mayo’s Outstanding Faculty Member Award, Outstanding Course Award, and Plummer Distinguished Physician Award.
