Giana Amador

Co-Founder and Policy Director, Carbon180

Giana Amador is co-founder and policy director of Carbon180, which has been developing and advocating for equitable, science-based policies to scale up carbon-removal solutions since 2015. Working with federal policymakers, research organizations, and entrepreneurs, she helps shape strategy to stop climate change by removing legacy carbon emissions from the atmosphere, in combination with curbing emissions. Amador has deep expertise in agriculture and soil carbon sequestration. Her past research focused on the political economy of renewable energy, with an emphasis on green industrial policy and coalition building. She was named to the 2022 Forbes 30 Under 30 List for Social Impact and earned her degree in environmental economics and policy from University of California at Berkeley in 2016.
