Janet Murguía

President and CEO, National Council of La Raza

Janet Murguía is president and CEO of the National Council of La Raza. From 2001 to 2005, she was executive vice chancellor for university relations at University of Kansas and, before that, deputy campaign manager and director of constituency outreach for the Gore/Lieberman presidential campaign. Murguía worked at the White House from 1994 to 2000 as deputy assistant to President Clinton and deputy director of legislative affairs. Her board service includes the Partnership for a Healthier America, The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, and the Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility. She was selected twice as one of Washingtonian magazine’s 100 Most Powerful Women in Washington, among several other honors.
