Julia Marsh

Julia Marsh is a multidisciplinary designer whose work encourages empathy and environmental stewardship. Most recently with Brandless, she has eight years of experience in art direction, branding, typography, illustration, copywriting, and mission-driven design. Marsh earned her MFA in design at the School of Visual Arts in New York, which honored her with the Paula Rhodes Award for Exceptional Achievement in Design. Her graduate thesis, Sway, replaces single-use plastics with sustainable seaweed-based packaging and continues to be developed post-graduation. Sway reduces waste by replacing harmful plastic pollutants with a naturally degradable, marine-safe material and promotes ocean health through the expansion of seaweed farms, which purify the water, sequester carbon, and increase biodiversity.
