Governor, State of Oregon

Kate Brown is the governor of Oregon, since 2015. Previously, she was elected as Oregon’s secretary of state from 2009 to 2015, a state senator from 1997 to 2009, and a state representative from 1991 to 1997. As governor, Brown has set ambitious goals to transition to 100 percent clean energy and address climate change, passed the country’s first automatic voter registration law, and made historic investments in education, transportation, and affordable housing. She chairs Vote From Home, an organization dedicated to protecting vote-by-mail policies, and Every State Every Vote, a joint effort between the Democratic Governors Association and Stacey Abrams’s Fair Fight. She also serves on the President’s Council of Governors and chairs its Disaster Response and Emergency Management working group.
