Kwame Anku is chairman and CEO of Black Star Fund, an early-stage innovation fund investing in the United States and Africa. Prior to this, he was the co-founder and principal of Black Angel Tech Fund, focused on capitalizing black technology entrepreneurs. Anku has appeared on CNN, MSNBC, BBC Worldwide, SiriusXM, and National Public Radio and is a mentor for the AT&T Aspire Accelerator and the Founder Institute Sacramento. He is also a 2018-2019 Aspen Ascend Fellow. Recently named one of PitchBook’s Top 25 Black Venture Capitalists to Watch in 2018, Anku entered the tech industry after being personally recruited by the late rock star Prince to develop his mobile app. Anku is participating in the Aspen Ideas Festival as a 2019 Scholar.
