Michele Bratcher Goodwin holds the Chancellor’s Chair at University of California, Irvine, with appointments at the School of Law, Health Sciences, and Department of Gender and Sexuality Studies. A bioethicist, she’s founder and director of the Center for Biotechnology and Global Health Policy and its Reproductive Justice Initiative, and she founded the Institute for Global Child Advocacy. An author of several books, including Policing The Womb, she has been published in popular media including Forbes, Salon.com, and Politico and in scholarly journals including Harvard Law Review, Yale Law Journal, and NYU Law Review. A regular commentator on civil liberties, civil rights, and human dignity, Goodwin serves on the American Civil Liberties Union Executive Committee.
