Victor Dzau

Victor Dzau is president of the National Academy of Medicine, since 2014. He was previously chancellor for health affairs and president and CEO of Duke University Health System, a professor at Harvard Medical School, chair of medicine and research director at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and chair of medicine at Stanford University. Among other advances, Dzau’s research laid the foundation for development of inhibitors that are currently used to treat high blood pressure and congestive heart failure, and he pioneered gene therapy for vascular disease. A board member of Singapore Health Services, his numerous honors include the Distinguished Scientist Award of the American Heart Association.
