William Bishop Jr. is group president of the pet segment at General Mills. This includes Blue Buffalo, a pet food product company he co-founded with his father and brother after their family dog (Blue) had faced a variety of health issues. Prior to joining General Mills in 2018, Bishop was Blue Buffalo’s CEO and, previously, COO. He also led marketing, product development, and operations after Blue Buffalo’s founding in 2002. Earlier in his career, Bishop was the vice president of marketing at US beverage company SoBe, where he led its guerilla marketing strategy, and was an account manager at Sierra Communications from 1993 to 1995.
